The goal of the association: the cleaning and protection of the karst environments of Tolosaldea that have traditionally been used as landfills or are contaminated.

The intention of the association: As a result of the cleaning and restoration of the caves and sims, the pollution of the underground water is avoided and the diversity of the fauna of the caves is preserved or maintained, so that current and future generations can continue to enjoy these natural resources. As archeology is the door to our past and in these times where water is on everyone's lips, we believe that it is time to take measures regarding the karst and start taking the necessary steps. The intention is not to find the culprits, but to analyze the situation, identify the needs and establish a work plan with clear objectives, always with the main goal of protecting the underground. The work area and test bench for the first phase of the general project will be established in the caves and sims of Tolosaldeko, gaining the necessary experience and establishing the protocols. Thus, the goal of the project is to expand the scope of the initiative to the whole of Gipuzkoa as the goals are achieved.
